This is pretty long, but its so worth watching. I’d describe what the guys at Top Gear have done in this one, but I couldn’t begin to do it justice.

I’d forgotten about Dan Osman till I ran across this video on YouTube. He free climbs a 400ft. 5.7 route in four minutes and twenty five seconds!

He’s also done some other absolutly insane things. . .

Unfortunately, he did a drop like this one on the same system twice . . . Needless to say a 1200ft. drop really stresses everything in the system. It was a mistake he didn’t survive.

I’ve never been much of a basketball fan. Most of that probably come from the fact that my beloved Hokies have always been something of a punching bag in the sport. Then Seth Greenberg came to Blacksburg . . .

This year has been pretty unbelievable. We’re still losing games we shouldn’t but we’ve also proven to be competitive in the ACC, the powerhouse of college basketball. As of today, we’re ranked 3rd in the conference, and we should move back into the top 25 nationally Monday. To get here we’ve managed to beat #5 Duke in Durham, and #1 UNC at home. Last night I figured the now #4 Tarheels would be getting their revenge as we traveled to Chapel Hill to play them. I may have to start watching some of this “basketball”, considering the way things turned out . . .

RPM developments!

Just the other day,I was talking to some of the guys from Red Hat in the hall after our quarterly business review. I was giving them a hard time about the state of RPM, and its documentation.

Apparently, someone at Red Hat has been thinking exactly the same thing. . . Obviously the announcements that came out only days after I talked with them have been in the works for a while. I couldn’t be more pleased.

First, Greg DeKoenigsberg made this blog post about a new job opening up at Red Hat. Something I wish they’d had long before.

Then this weekend I noticed a very interesting slashdot post, about the Fedora project revitalizing RPM! The RPM website has gotten a makeover, there’s a new wiki, for people to help with documentation, and mercurial repositories for the RPM source code and the Maximum RPM book!

Here’s Max Spevack’s post to the fedora-announce-list on the subject.

This can’t be right, it can’t be this easy to reset someones password in windows. I guess if everyone has administrator rights I shouldn’t be surprised. It just goes to prove if you have physical access to a box you own the box.
